For the past several weeks, we've had the pleasure of hosting Shawn Reeder of Organic Finishes. His curiosity, drive, and humility were infectious and we couldn't be happier that our paths crossed.

Over ten years ago in Oklahoma, Organic Finishes entered the paint world,  and like many painters, a love of color and design evolved into a fond appreciation for decorative wall finishes, and ultimately the art of plaster.

The journey  or "ride" as Shawn calls it, then shifted toward research and exploration. First honing skills in their home workshop, then refining the art and structure of plaster through projects in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.

After years of experimenting, Shawn wanted to pursue authentic Tadelakt training, and we are thrilled that he found his way to us to learn under and work alongside Jeremy Mistretta. Jeremy's measured, consistent approach, paired with unmatched experience provided an ideal learning environment where artistry and craftsmanship come together. Over the last several weeks, Shawn has not only learned valuable technical skills, but has also enjoyed the opportunity to work hands-on in with our crews and see how our process works from start to finish.

Organic Finishes believes in creating natural, custom wall finishes; bespoke designs for clients seeking truly unique artistry. Their work highlights plaster as an earth-based art form, crafted with natural aggregates, low-sheen finishes, and timeless textures. Every wall becomes a piece of functional art, designed to bring organic beauty and warmth into the spaces our clients call home.

Through effort, transparency, and humility, Shawn pours his craft and heart into every project, making each space not only beautiful but meaningful.

It has been a joy to get to both teach and learn from Shawn, and we're excited to see where "the ride" brings him next.  But most importantly, we're honored to have gotten to enjoy a few small laps around the plaster track with him.  We can't wait to see what he does next.
